StrokesPlus is a lightweight software application whose purpose is to help users assign various actions to their mouse based on different gestures. Although it comes bundled with many dedicated parameters, the layout is clean and straightforward, and offers quick access to a set of well-organized functions. StrokesPlus features a wide range of global actions, which give you the possibility to perform operations based on mouse gestures.
The tool lets you copy, cut, or paste the clipboard content, jump to the last or next track, play, pause or stop the current selection, undo or redo your actions, increase, decrease, or mute the volume, as well as minimize, maximize, or close windows.
What’s more, you can make the program ignore mouse actions when drawing different gestures on your desktop, and perform several actions related to Internet web browsers, such as bookmark sites, switch to a full screen mode, reveal the homepage, open link in a new tab, view downloads, as well as zoom in or out.
One of the top features bundled in this utility enables you to customize each mouse gesture by drawing a new one and pick the mouse buttons.
StrokesPlus allows you to assign user-defined mouse gestures and actions for multiple applications installed on your system. A new action can be configured in terms of mouse gesture, Lua scripts, and mouse button.
Last but not least, you can assign hotkeys, create an ignore list, view a list with all active actions, as well as store your own Lua functions and variables in a dedicated panel.
All in all, StrokesPlus proves to be a reliable application that bundles a complete suite of tools for helping you increase your work flow using mouse gestures. If you want to skip the installation steps, you can download the portable version of the program.
New in version 2.8.6.3 (March 6, 2016)
• Updated gGestureComplete to support queueing during mouse wheel firing events instead of discarding the events when both Lua states are executing
• Added acSetNumberVariable/acGetNumberVariable and acSetStringVariable/acGetStringVariable actions. These actions allow you to store and retrieve number or string values in a key/value pair form. These value maps persist as long as S+ is running, unlike Lua variables which are cleared anytime the Lua engine is reloaded, which happens when you tell S+ to reload the Lua engine or when you click OK in the main S+ screen. Also, these value maps are shared across the 2 Lua states active in S+ at all times, so you can be sure the stored value will always be persistent and accessible so long as S+ remains running. Note that the number and string maps are independent, so you can use the same variable name in each, as in the example below, they wouldn't overwrite the other.
