Bristol imprint Banoffee Pies stands out like a true jewel within its fair city's musical scene, challenging the status quo of heavy bass driven music with its carefully curated selections of music from the deeper and more minimalist spectrum. Now making their smooth grooves available on digital format, the label provides a retrospective of some of their highlights over the last few years. The tough and rolling jack of Ruf Dug's "Cosmic Feelings" featured on their very first release, Swede in Sydney Adam Stromstedt (co-head of Lyssna) is a staple of Banoffee Pies now and served up the sublime hypnotica of "Gedank" last year on BP06, as did Rotterdam's Philou Louzolo (on BP04) with the lush and ethereal deepness of "Alter Ego". Jaffa Surfa's "Souled Out" from 2016 is another worthy addition - this funky and rolling tech house stomper by the Hungarian scene veteran is truly lit!
