The title Chicago Blues Bash sounds as if this material was taken from live performances by some of the Windy City's finest electric bluesmen. Unfortunately, that's not the case. These ten studio tracks, taken from the vaults of Delmark Records, include Big Joe Williams, J.B. Hutto, Jimmy Johnson, Buddy Guy, and Junior Wells. While Chicago Blues Bash contains excellent music of the genre, pass on this Laserlight issue and go directly to the source; there are many great compilations available directly from Delmark.
